Pinochle<br />
Wednesdays, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.<br />
The Pinochle Club recently held a tournament. The winners<br />
were Stuart Rubin, Bill Loeffler, Bill Smith, Wayne Gardner,<br />
Gary Miller, Kay Huebner, Wayne Rohrbaugh, Dick Storley,<br />
and Carol Atteberry.<br />
Poker<br />
The second poker tournament for 2007 was held on June 16.<br />
We had 81 players, including 21new members to the Club. First<br />
place: Joel Glabman, $486; second place: Art Provencio; third<br />
place: Robert Royer; fourth place: Sarge Washington; fifth place:<br />
Len Chapman; sixth place: Darryl Fried; seventh place Richard<br />
Fillman; eigth place Patricia Hoffman. The prize pool was<br />
$1620. Congratulation to all the winners. A special thank you to<br />
our cochairmen, Steve Sacks and Bob Lock (in absentia-on vacation).<br />
A thank you to all participants. Will see all of you in our<br />
3Q tournament.<br />
In the interim, play on Poker Club times—noon on<br />
Tuesdays, 6:00 p.m. on Thursdays and 10:00 a.m. on Saturdays.<br />
There is a mix of games/stakes that should be appealing to YOU.<br />
We are also looking to setup additional game types/stakes.<br />
We also want to conduct various type of poker classes. We<br />
will conduct classes for brand new soon-to-be-poker-players, as<br />
well as classes for the experienced players. For the classes or for<br />
new table with specific games/stakes, contact Steve Sacks at 263-<br />

Our annual dues are only $2.00. Join us on Club days and at<br />

Porcelain<br />
Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon<br />
<strong>Anthem</strong> Center<br />
The Porcelain Club invites residents to experience the joy of<br />
porcelain making. Some greenware (unfinished figurines) are<br />
available for purchase and newcomers will be taught how to<br />
clean and paint the items to your liking. Call Eclid Villarosa at<br />
821-1944 for membership details.<br />
RV<br />
The RV Club will not have monthly meetings or organized rallies<br />
during the months of June, July and August. We will<br />
resume our monthly travels together in September, with a trip<br />
already scheduled to Sedona, Arizona. Rallies are planned for<br />
Rocky Point, Mexico in October and Wickenburg, Arizona in<br />
November. If you are interested in joining our club, please call<br />
our membership chairman, Jack Wiseman at 407-4042 or e<br />
mail him at jackwiseman@msn.com. There is a one time initiation<br />
fee of $50.00 per rig and annual dues of $5.00 per person.<br />
Our meetings are held in the Penn Room at Independence<br />
Center at 4:00 p.m. on the last Tuesday of each month, except<br />
for June, July & August. Guests are always welcome at our<br />

Scrabble Plus<br />
Scrabble Plus members meet weekly on<br />
Fridays from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. in<br />
the Emerson Room. Scrabble Plus members<br />
meet weekly on Fridays from 1:00 p.m - 5:00 p.m. in the<br />
Emerson Room. Please come to the Gallery on weekends if you<br />
cannot play on Friday. We seek dedicated Scrabble players as well<br />
as newcomers. Games are available with players at all levels from<br />
beginning to advanced. Prizes are awarded to our theme contests<br />
winners. The picnic theme contest winner for May was Norman<br />
Shubert with “lager” (21). New members are invited to drop in<br />
any time between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. since accommodation<br />
can be made to include a player in one or two games if they wish.<br />
Members participate in regular competitions with 3 or 4 members<br />
at a table. In addition, tournament style Round Robin play<br />
with one on one Scrabble play for two players is also available regularly<br />
and on the second Friday of the month. Additional games<br />
are often played on Saturdays, <strong>Sun</strong>days, or other weekdays in the<br />
Gallery as arranged by members. Our club title, Scrabble Plus,<br />
indicates that we have other word games available in addition to<br />
Scrabble. We welcome new members who wish to play other<br />
word games such as Boggle or Upwards. These games are available<br />
once a month on the fourth Friday of each month.<br />
