Tuesdays, 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m, Bristol Room, Recreation Center
We invite you to join us and celebrate your writing.
We provide a forum for information, support, and sharing
our memoirs, poems, short stories, essays, or novels with fellow
writers.
Our club has published a second anthology titled, “The Write
Stuff,” that includes a collection of the above-mentioned subjects.
Margaret Wang, a member wrote the following on the back
of our anthology: “Between the covers of this book is a collection
of literary words written by the members of
the Sun City Anthem Authors Club. Each
piece is composed in a style that is unique
to that one writer alone. Our writing styles
may be different, or perhaps influenced by
the diverse background of our membership,
but we share the same desire to write. We welcome diversity, for
it adds interest and color to our work, as evidenced in the contents
of our anthology.”
Through diligent efforts, a number of our authors have sharpened
their creative skill to a point that they have the ability to
move the readers to tears or induce hearty laughter.

Summer is the time for swimming
so come join us for aquacize
classes. What better way to stay cool
and get your exercise at the same
time? The view from the pool is too
good to be missed and the benefits
to the body are too important to be missed, too. Please call
Joanne at 260-4228 for a club application. We have lots of fun
at our monthly luncheons and would love for you to join us.
Arts & Crafts
July brings a big bargain to all SCA Arts and Crafters. Dues for
membership in our club are half price from July 1 to December
31. What a deal at only $7.50. You will find membership
forms and envelopes by the bulletin board in the Arts and
Crafts room. There will be no
general membership meetings in
July or August. Our social committee
is planning an ice cream
social with Bunco games and
prizes for a tentative date of July
11. Be sure to check the bulletin
board and read your e-mails
for confirmation of date and
time, etc.
If any of the shared interest
groups want to reserve a
table for the Anthem Center
Arts & Crafts Expo on
Saturday, November 3, be
sure to call Diana Titus at
837-7913 as soon as possible.
Priority will be given to the
shared interest groups and
to full-pay members.
Our Nominating Committee
will be on the lookout
for good candidates for completing
a slate of officers for 2008. If you have a genuine interest
in the Arts & Crafts Club, please consider volunteering to
serve. Call the Nominating Committee Chairperson, Judy
Gabriel at 260-7766 if you have questions or an interest. Our
next general membership meeting will be September 19 at 3:15
in the Penn Room.
NUTCRACKERS: Nutcracker Painting will take place on
Mondays from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. These wooden “dolls”
are fun to do, easy to make, and gorgeous when you’re done!

MOSAIC WORKSHOPS: Workshops will be held on Fridays
from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on July 13, 20, and 27. Call Judy
Gabriel at 260-7766
E-Z MAKE ‘n TAKE CRAFTS: The craft for July will be creating
charming fabric flowers and will be held on Monday, July
9 from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Sign up sheet will be on the bulletin
board in the room.
SCRAP BOOK: Open workshop hours are Mondays from
1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Novice and experienced scrap bookers are
welcome to attend. Learn how to preserve your photos for 100
years. Call Marcia Thompson at 270-4508 or Kathie Manning

RUBBER STAMPING: Introduction to rubber stamping will
not be taught in July or August. All stamp classes meet at 1:00
p.m. in the Arts & Crafts room with the addition of the first
Thursday morning group that will also meet at 10:00 a.m. on
the fourth Thursday. Friday with Sue Christensen will meet
Friday, July 6 and July 20. You will learn stamping techniques,
make greeting cards and make new friends. Sign up in the A/C
room on the orange list. There is a $2 charge for materials.
Please bring your basic supplies. The new Wednesday group
will meet July 11 and 25. Sign up is required for preparation.
There is $1 fee for material replacement. The first Thursday
group will meet July 5. Please call Marilyn Buell at 407-1774
to reserve your place. The group will also meet on Thursday
July 26 at 10:00 a.m. The third Thursday group will meet July
19. Call Marilynn Hehn at 361-3292 to confirm attendance.
