CleanTop II Table Tops
This type of Table Top is of the same
universally recog nized design as our
Optical Table Tops, i.e., a close-celled steel
honeycomb core sandwiched between
heavy-gauge steel plates, all laminated
together to form a rigid unit using
on-aging epoxy resin. These have 5 mm
gauge, magnetic stainless-steel top plates
with total planity better than ±0.13 mm.
These Table Tops are provided with a grid
of M6 threaded holes on 25 mm centers,
allowing mounting of equipment and
rapid assembly of experimental setups.

All threaded holes are sealed using our
patented Clean-Top process, which
individually seals holes with caps that
preclude liquids entering their cores and
attacking epoxy bonding.
Their sidewalls are also fabricated from
steel plates, and have damping materials
applied to their inner surfaces. This results
in highly uniform structural units that
ex- pand /contract uniformly in response
to, e.g., ambient temperature drifts or
localized heating, and virtually precludes
bending. These Table Tops are 100 mm
thick, providing a working surface height
of 835 mm.
