Nowdays <strong>the</strong> composite hydroxyapatite (HAP) coatings containing biopolyme<strong>rs</strong>, such as lignin<br />

(Lig), attract grate interest as a coating material for metallic implants. In order to prevent infection<br />

<strong>the</strong> composite coatings are doped with silver. The chosen concentration in Ag/HAP/Lig coating was<br />

0.5 wt. % Ag <strong>and</strong> characterized by various techniques. The corrosion stability <strong>of</strong> sintered HAP/Lig<br />

<strong>and</strong> Ag/HAP/Lig coatings in simulated body fluid (SBF) at 37 °C during 48 h was investigated by<br />

open circuit potential–time measurements <strong>and</strong> electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). It<br />

was shown that both composite coatings exhibited good corrosion stability in SBF solution.<br />
