Holiday Safety Tips
Christmas Trees
Make sure the tree is at least 3ft away from any heat sources, while ensuring it is not blocking an exit. Never use lit
candles to decorate a tree. Some Christmas lights are only for indoor or outdoor use. Connect no more than three
strands of lights. Turn off tree lights before leaving home or going to bed.
Turkey Fryers
Propane-fired turkey fryers are designed for outdoor use only. Cooking oil is combustible, and if it is heated beyond
its cooking temperature, its vapors can ignite. If it rains on the hot oil or the turkey/food being cooked is not fully
thawed before cooking begins, then the result can be a splattering of the hot oil which can lead to burns and/or fires.
