Flexibility in Fee Structure
Any concession requires the approval of the Chief Executive Officer or delegated officer.
POLICY/STATUTORY IMPLICATIONS:
Section 6.16 of the Local Government Act 1995 provides the authority for Council to levy fees
and charges for the provision of goods and services. Council’s decision to levy a fee or charge
must be made by an absolute majority.
According to section 6.19 of the Local Government Act 1995, if the Council proposes to impose
any fees or charges after the Annual Budget has been adopted, then the Council is to give local
public notice of its intention to do so and advise the effective date of change.
Accordingly, it is recommended that statutory advertising as required by Section 6.19 of the
Local Government Act 1995 are undertaken in the Post Newspaper, Council and golf course
website and noticeboards.
FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS:
The setting of fees will have a direct impact on the amount of revenue generated at the WGC.
STRATEGIC DIRECTION:
The proposed review of fees and charges supports a number of the Priority Areas of the
Town’s 2009-2020 Strategic Plan, namely:
Delivery of our services, and;
Capacity to Delivery.
COMMUNITY CONSULTATION:
In accordance with Policy Number 1.2.11, community consultation is not required.
