Use of DILM contactors without series resistor for group<br />
<strong>com</strong>pens<strong>at</strong>ion<br />
When using contactors for group <strong>com</strong>pens<strong>at</strong>ion, a minimum<br />
inductance of approx. 6 µH per capacitor must be available to<br />
limit the high inrush current peaks. This corresponds to an aircored<br />
coil with 5 windings and a coil diameter of approxim<strong>at</strong>ely<br />
∅ 140 mm. The conductor cross-section must be selected<br />
according to the r<strong>at</strong>ed current per phase.<br />
Through the use of EWDIL quick-discharge resistors, the danger<br />
of <strong>com</strong>plete polarity reversal in the event of rapidly recurring<br />
closure can be excluded. The resultant make times are 0.2 s.<br />
The resistor is switched by means of two auxiliary contacts of<br />
the contactor.<br />
