The ROL-LOC Mechanical WALKAWAY bracket meets
NFPA 1901-09 9G dynamic requirements cylinder restraint
system for use in crew compartments. Third party tested to
over 10G.
The Rol-Loc uses a rotating block and the footplate to securely
lock the SCBA in place by its ends. The rotating block is PVC
coated to prevent damage to the cylinder while in use.
The steel backplate provides a strong backbone to the bracket.
Both the backplate and cast aluminum footplate are powder
coated to provide years of trouble free service.
The Rol-Loc makes donning an SCBA fast and hassle free.
The firefighter simply slips into the harness, pulls the release
cable, and leans forward and is ready to go. The Rol-Loc
fits all SCBAs on the market at the time of the brackets
release.
One of the unique features of the Rol-Loc is
the simplicity in which the SCBA is stored
away. Simply place the valve of the SCBA in
the footplate and push the pack into place. The
rotational block will pivot and catch the SCBA
securely in place.
The Rol-Loc can be set up to any SCBA combination
with minimal work. The Rol-Loc was
designed to allow all adjustments to be done
without having to remove the bracket from the
seat.

NFPA 1901-03 changed the way you are permitted
to mount SCBA units in your emergency vehicles.
WALKAWAY ® brackets with spring clips will no
longer meet the new standard and may not be used
in crew areas.
You may still purchase spring clip style brackets, but
they may only be used in side compartments or in
stationary applications.
Only mechanical and “Load & Lock” style WALK-
AWAY brackets may be used in crew areas. The “Load
& Lock” is available in two ways (both styles available
with the EZ-OUT strap and release set up):
1. Knock-down bracket (KD-ULLH) requires
assembly in the field. Each bracket consists of a
backplate, short footplate, two seats, “Load & Lock”
strap assembly and cautionary labels. All hardware
is included and assembly should require a few
minutes time with a Torx T-30 driver and 7/16”
wrench.
Spring clip style WALKAWAY Brackets are available
in two ways:
1. Knock-down brackets requiring assembly in the
field. This is the most economical way to purchase
a WALKAWAY bracket. All hardware for assembly
is included, and assembly should require only a few
minute time with a Torx T-30 driver and 7/16” wrench.
Knock-down brackets are available in six ways:

Keep SCBA locked securely in place with the CRS collision restraint strap. It not only
meets the requirements of NFPA 1901-96, Section 10.1-6 , 1901-99, Section 12-1.6
and NFPA 1901-09, but during third party testing, it held the SCBA in place throughout

At times, the Walkaway bracket may only be mounted on two straps
(see photo to left). When the self-contained breathing apparatus is
pulled out of the bracket, the universal backplate may be deflected
backwards at either the top or bottom. To prevent the universal
backplate from deflecting, we suggest the use of the extruded backplate
support. The backplate support should be mounted between
the Walkaway bracket and the seat straps. The dimensions are .170”
thick x 4” wide x 22.5” long.

CHANGING SPRING CLIPS
Spring clips may be removed from the WALKAWAY® bracket when:
1. Replacing your current SCBA cylinder with either a smaller or larger diameter air
cylinder, or
2. When changing clips on which the protective coating has worn through to bare steel.
On Knock-down brackets you simply unbolt the clips and replace them with new ones.
Instructions are provided with brackets when converting bracket to SC-50-H style.
With assembled brackets, follow these simple steps:

1. Remove WALKAWAY bracket from its mounting surface.
2. From rear of backplate drill out the rivets that hold the existing spring clips.
3. With a sharp knife score coating between clip and backplate.
4. To prevent rusting, paint all bare metal surfaces with Krylon or other fast drying
acrylic paint.
5. Attach new clips with hardware that is provided.
Spring clip locations are noted on the drawing at left. The bottom clip is always
placed at location 6, except on SC-50 bracket, where the bottom clip will be in position

Lower SCBA quickly
Now firefighters can quickly slip into breathing apparatus from a comfortable
standing position, even when SCBA is stored in high compartments.
Swing devices are made of high tensile strength aluminum and are virtually
maintenance free. The basic swing is 11-1/2” W x 23” L.
QUIC-SWING units are used most often in shallow high side compartments.
If the compartment is 12-14” deep, you may need to add an extension plate
to allow the device to clear the compartment lip.
QUIC-PAC assembly may be attached to the model QSD for mounting on
exterior of apparatus for protection from the elements.

with each holder. The spacers raise the WALKAWAY bracket either 1” or 2”
above the faceplate as required to miss the edge of a compartment or over seat

The modified QUIC-FLIP holder is ideal for use on
engine compartments and Mattydales to hold SCBA

up from the horizontal storage position to a vertical
position, with SCBA ready for donning. Firefighter
can simply stand on the step, flip up the unit, and slip

For use when apparatus compartments are deep and space is at a premium. The QUIC-INDEX ®
multiple bracket holder holds up to four SCBA units or spare cylinders securely in separate
WALKAWAY brackets (ordered separately).
As each SCBA or cylinder is removed from its bracket, the next is easily
obtained by simply rotating the holder. The holder automatically stops
and locks in the front position to present the next SCBA or cylinder for
convenient removal.
Basic unit, less brackets, measures 10” W x 10” D x 25-1/2” H. To
calculate the width requirement, measure depth of complete SCBA or
cylinder to be mounted, double measurement (one unit per side), and add
6”. To calculate height required, add 1-1/2” to length of air cylinder or
complete SCBA.

NFPA 1901-09 9G dynamic requirements for cylinder restraint
system for use in crew compartments. Third party tested to 10G.

It has four PVC coated clamping arms to securely lock the SCBA in
place without damaging the cylinder wall.
The basic bracket and clamp arms are made of strong, yet lightweight,
aluminum alloys. Hex arms and operating lever are plated
steel to withstand years of constant use.
Donning the SCBA is fast and easy. Firefighter simply slips into

The QUIC-LOCK Mechanical WALKAWAY bracket meets NFPA
1901-03 9G dynamic requirements for cylinder restraint system for
use in crew compartments. Third party tested to 10G.
The Quic-Lock uses the top clamp and the footplate to securely lock
the SCBA in place by its ends. The top clamp is PVC coated to prevent
damage to the cylinder while in use.
The backplate is made of steel to provide a strong backbone to the
bracket. Both the backplate and cast aluminum footplate are powder
coated to provide years of trouble free service.
Donning the SCBA is fast and easy. Firefighter simply slips into the
harness, and pulls the release cable and is ready to go. The Quic-Lock
fits all SCBAs on the market at the time of the brackets release.

Setting up the QLM-U to any SCBA combination can be
done with minimal work. The Quic-Lock was designed to
allow all adjustments to be done without having to remove
the bracket from the seat.

providing immediate access when needed.
NFPA 1901-09 Sections 15-5.5 & 15-5.6 require restraint
straps for SCBA air cylinder storage racks. The straps are
designed to keep the air cylinder in place in the event of an
accident or roll-over.
The strap assembly bolts into place utilizing the four corner
mounting holes. Order with new storage racks or retrofit
onto existing units. Use with model PACSR storage racks.

The ZICO QUIC-CLAMP may be
operated by one firefighter to quickly
and efficiently clamp off hose during
an emergency. Clamp may also be
used on hose upon arrival at scene to

valve is easily mounted from outside the vehicle by one man. Ordinary
valves require an additional person inside the tank while mounting, increasing

Electrically operated valves (3) off distributor box allows
dumping on three sides (see photo above).
Electrically operated valves may be controlled from the cab
or near the valve...eliminates need for personnel to be in the
highly dangerous position between the vehicle and the dump
tank.
Actuator may be attached to either the left or right side of
valve. If sufficient clearance is not available above the valve,
simply flip the unit over allowing the actuator to extend
below the valve.
The manual valve handle may be shortened from 14” to 9”
when the electric actuator is used...or shortened as required.
Either of two pins may be pulled, in the event of electrical
failure, to operate the valve manually.

By providing a square flange on the discharge side of the valve, ZICO
offers several options for attaching auxilliary chutes to discharge the

Cushioned Back Rest Seat mounts above and behind existing seat cushions,
providing the ultimate in firefighter comfort
The seat frame is constructed of one-half inch plywood to assure extra strength
and stability. Molded foam is applied to the frame and covered with a 48-ounce
heavy-duty vinyl Prefixx finished fabric.
The seat has been designed with short side supports to easily accommodate the
hip harness assembly on your SCBA. This design keeps the harness recessed so
as not to protrude into the firefighter’s back.
Model CBR-____-B
Seats are available in two widths (18” and 20”). The 20” wide seat is recommended
for the Scott 4.5 and Interspiro SCBA due to the width of their SCBA
cylinder support assembly.
Two head rest heights are available (3-1/2” and 6”). The shorter 3-1/2” head rest
reduces helmet interference.
Mounting brackets are provided for attaching the seat cushion to any flat surface.
Brackets are pre-drilled for mounting of WALKAWAY bracket, which must be
ordered separately.

Slide-out, flip-down tray facilitates changing of
medical oxygen cylinder.
The tray mounts under the bench seat. Flip the latch
and slide the tray out of the compartment. After the

Adjustable shelving components from ZICO let you create and partition storage space to
meet your needs. They’re designed for sturdy, long-term use in fire apparatus, ambulances,
utility, and rescue vehicles.
Used in various configurations, they offer almost limitless options for storage of tools,
equipment, parts, clothing and other vital needs. The dimensions of the space can be easily
changed, and various components can be added or deleted as needed. Mounting hardware
is supplied (ABC only).
The components include Adjustable Base Channels (ABC), Adjustable Slide Brackets
(ASB) and Vertical Slide Brackets (VSB). The base channel can be bolted or welded to the
walls, floor, or ceiling of the compartment. Components come in standard 6-ft. lengths and
can be cut to desired size.
The ASB accepts plywood sheets to 3/4” thickness (not supplied) and can be used with or
without base channels. Wood or metal partitions can be bolted directly to VSB.
For simplicity and versatility, try the ZICO way to keep your compartments in order.
ABC used with angle to support shelf - Base channel bolted
or welded to compartment wall with aluminum angle attached.
Versatile positioning of shelf provides more efficient use of
compartment space. Shelf material may be attached directly to the
upper surface of the angle. Mount horizontally in compartment

This durable rubber cup mount is the ideal way to mount pre-connected nozzles on fire and
emergency vehicles. Do not use with pistol-grip or play pipes.
Only one hole is required for mounting. Virtually any nozzle may be stored in one of the
four cup models available. Measure diameter at discharge end of nozzle to determine which
cup is required.
Additional cup mounts available for use with SCBA, fire extinguishers and other cylindrical
items. See page 1-24.
All cup mounts are shipped with a tie down safety strap. The strap has a brass grommet. The
hex head bolt should pass down through the cup, bracket and grommet, with a flat washer
and nut affixed to the bolt.

QUIC-LIFT systems are available for ladders on a
horizontal or vertical surface (Model LAS) or on a vertical
surface only (LAS-BHM). A third system is available
for mounting hard sleeves (Model HSS). All three systems
make retrieval a simple operation...easy, without straining.

The LAS-HA-__ is a new take on a proven design. It takes the basic design
of the LAS and adds in the reliability of hydraulic actuators with the choice

The Bulk Head Mounted Ladder System allows mounting of the
system on a vertical surface. It provides shelf storage space for
hand tools, folding ladders and other firefighting equipment.

3097 Light Kit
NFPA 1901-03 Standard requires flashing lights be provided facing
front and rear of apparatus. Lights must continue to flash while the
device is out of the stored position.

alarm will continue to be offered as an option (see pages 3-51 and 8-3
for the audio/visual alarm).

the portable tank to you
Now you can quickly retrieve portable tanks from over side compartments
without unnecessary stretching or straining. At the flick of a
switch, our revolutionary Portable Tank System lowers any standard
30-inch high collapsible tank to a convenient height for removal.
Consisting of two high-strength aluminum casting sets and 12-volt
linear actuators, the PTS is easily installed onto new or existing
tankers. The electrically operated system requires a minimum shelf
width of 8-1/4”. Twenty-one inches (10-1/2” per device) shelf space
must be added to collapsed length of portable tank when calculating
mounting requirement.

The Utility Mounting System may be used to secure almost any item. Two types of straps are available, and each
comes with one 2” footman’s loop for mounting.
UTILITY MOUNTING STRAP
FIXED
Fixed Strap (UMFS-) - Available in two-inch
increments from 3” to 25”. Straps are normally
used in conjunction with variable straps to secure
most any item. Length measured from inside of
“D” ring to inside of “D” ring.
UTILITY MOUNTING STRAP
VARIABLE
Variable Strap (UMVS-) - Five sizes are available
with an adjustment range of 5” to 44”. May be used
alone, with one additional footman, or in conjunction
with a fixed strap. Length measured from inside of
“D” ring to fold between loops and hooks.

Shoulder Strap (SS-4800) - Use in conjunction with
two or three variable straps (length determined by
circumference around pack) to transport high-rise
hose pack.
May also be used with Axe/QUIC-BAR straps to
transport hand tools.
Two variable straps are available to secure Axe/30” QUIC-BAR

QUIC-ACCESS ® wall cabinets keep SCBA ready for use and safe from harsh environments
These rugged wall cabinets safely hold SCBA in WALKAWAY ® brackets or model CMB cabinet mounting bracket.
They offer protection from moisture, dust, tampering and contamination. Side mounted hinges allow doors to swing
wide open for fast, easy donning of breathing apparatus. Each cabinet may be mounted on any vertical surface by
fastening the WALKAWAY bracket or cabinet mounting bracket with the cabinet onto the mounting surface.
Steel cabinet for single SCBA unit: Yellow epoxy-coated, heavy gauge steel construction provides years of
trouble-free service. For a positive seal, spring-loaded, stainless steel latches compress the neoprene gasket tightly
when door is closed. Optional lockable latch is also available. Tamper-proof ties permit visual detection of entry,
while a polycarbonate viewport allows external visual inspection of gauge and contents. For added security, the
case may be special-ordered without the viewing window. Full length hinge allows door to swing fully open.

and inside dimensions of 18-1/4” W x 30” H x

NOTE: WALKAWAY bracket or cabinet mounting bracket must be ordered
separately in addition to the cabinet style.
MMWC Cabinets: Constructed of UV stabilized ABS materials with highly visible safety yellow doors. Stickon
labels are provided to indicate minutes duration of SCBA unit(s) mounted inside. Bulb seal gasket locks out
moisture and dirt, while thermoplastic hinges and latches are highly resistant to corrosive chemicals and ultraviolet
exposure. Without opening the door, sight windows allow external visual inspection of contents and air cylinder
pressure readings. Handle is molded into the door.

maintenance, molded plastic wall cabinet protects equipment against the most
severe plant environments.
Heavy-duty ABS construction withstands temperature extremes, moisture,
corrosive chemicals, and ultraviolet exposure, while thermo-plastic hardware
and low-friction hinges resist corrosion and breakage. Cabinet door features
a neoprene bulb gasket and twin hinges that keep the door tightly closed,
sealing off cabinet contents. The door opens easily for ready access to
apparatus stored inside. Large handle pulls door open instantly...no handle
to turn or internal latches to line up. Indicator tabs supplied to show visible
proof of cabinet entry.

The highly visible red extinguisher cabinet stands out in the busiest
industrial environments. Users can apply our self-adhesive classification
labels to the cabinets for at-a-glance identification of extinguisher type and
approved application ranges. ZICO wall cabinet accommodates nearly any
brand of fire extinguisher. May be flush-mounted or wall-hung.

Zico’s helmet holder, model UHH-1, has been tested to 9 g’s
and complies with the 2009 edition of NFPA 1901 for use inside
of crew cabs. It holds both traditional and contemporary style
helmets without any adjustment needed. To secure the helmet,
simply slip the helmet’s hook onto the mount and pull the strap
over the crown. Removing the helmet is as simple as pulling the
strap down and lifting the helmet up.
