Under the sunrise the mountains
are walking on water.
This is the skin.
The mountains are dancing.
They are walking on their toes
on all the water in the world.
This is the blood.
And all the water in the world -
oceans, raindrops, runoff dipped
in cupped hands, moistened lips and tears -
is holding up the mountains.
This is the ligament. This is the bone.
The bones are flowing water.
There is marrow in the bone.
Never judge by just one world.
In the marrow is the blood.
If the mountains stop walking, the world
will stop being born.

as the temperature rises and drops.
Water knows what to do
as it flies through the air
or touches the ground.
Water knows what to do
as it touches the water.
