A.6.5. <strong>Bicycle</strong> Locker Design<br />

Design Summary<br />

Recommended Design<br />

• <strong>Bicycle</strong> lockers should be designed in a way that is intuitive <strong>and</strong><br />

easy to use.<br />

• <strong>Bicycle</strong> lockers should be securely anchored to a surface or<br />

structure.<br />

• <strong>Bicycle</strong> lockers should be constructed to provide protection<br />

from theft, v<strong>and</strong>alism <strong>and</strong> weather.<br />

• A five-foot aisle for bicycle maneuvering should be provided<br />

<strong>and</strong> maintained beside or between each row <strong>of</strong> bicycle lockers.<br />

• Lockers should be located close to a main building entrance, in<br />

a lighted, high-visibility area protected from the elements.<br />

Long-term parking should always be protected from the<br />

weather.<br />
