GROUP FITNESS CLASSES AT THE JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER<br />
The <strong>JCC</strong>’s <strong>Group</strong> <strong>Fitness</strong> program is a great way to exercise and have a lot of fun. There is a social atmosphere while energy and motivation run high. Instead of one<br />
workout partner, you have a room full of them. Our instructors are some of the area’s best! They are nationally certified – having completed training programs which<br />
prepare them to motivate you to do more than you could ever do alone.<br />
Our diverse class selection includes the popular Les Mills BODYPUMP® and BODYSTEP®, ZUMBA®, and TurboKICK® workouts, as well as kickboxing, strength<br />
training, cardio interval training, and yoga. Yoga fans will enjoy a full range of classes – all focusing on breathing and postural alignment while building strength,<br />
balance, and flexibility. Our Schwinn® Indoor Cycling classes are another high-energy cardio option. You’ll burn hundreds of calories while your instructor takes you<br />
on an authentic ride set to great music.<br />

GROUP FITNESS CLASS DESCRIPTIONS<br />
STRENGTH TRAINING CLASSES<br />
The original barbell class that strengthens<br />
your entire body. BODYPUMP challenges all your major<br />
muscle groups using exercises like squats, presses, lifts,<br />
and curls. Great music, awesome instructors, and your<br />
choice of weight inspire you to get fast results!<br />
Pilates Ball is the ultimate core training workout! It will<br />
challenge your core (trunk, shoulders, hips and thighs)<br />
using traditional Pilates moves with an 8-inch rubber ball.<br />
CARDIOVASCULAR CLASSES<br />
uses a height-adjustable platform and<br />
simple movements on, over, and around the step.<br />
Cardiovascular blocks are followed by body-weight muscle<br />
conditioning to shape and tone your body.<br />
Inspired by martial arts – karate, boxing,<br />
taekwondo, tai chi and muay thai. You will strike, punch,<br />
kick and kata your way to superior cardio fitness.<br />
Kickboxing: A combination of boxing and martial arts to<br />
the beat of dance-club music. The moves are worked into<br />
swiftly executed combinations.<br />
A fun and easy-to-do workout combining Latin<br />
and International dance themes. High energy so you can<br />
dance away your worries. Great for the body and the mind.<br />
Cardio Core: A total-body workout focusing on<br />
strengthening your core. Includes high and low intensity<br />
cardiovascular intervals using the Resist-a-ball.<br />
MIND/BODY CLASSES<br />
Yoga is a practice cultivating strength, balance, and<br />
flexibility. Sometimes practiced on the mat; sometimes off,<br />
yoga blends postures (asanas) with breathing exercises<br />
(pranayama) and meditation.<br />
The Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates workout that<br />
builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling<br />
centered and calm.<br />
Gentle Yoga: Enjoy increased concentration, balance,<br />
flexibility and well-being through poses and light stretching.<br />
Mat Pilates: A mind and body exercise designed to<br />
lengthen and tone the entire body. Pilates focuses on the<br />
core muscles creating flat abs and a strong back. It will<br />
help you gain strength, balance, and flexibility.<br />
Restorative Yoga: Supported, gentle yoga. Postures are<br />
assisted using blankets, blocks, and straps. You will stretch<br />
and restore your base-line flexibility. Perfect for beginners<br />
and people with very tight muscles.<br />
For your health and the health of others, please<br />
bring your own sticky mat for Yoga, Pilates and<br />
BODYFLOW classes. Although we have a limited<br />
number of sticky mats for member use, we don’t<br />
recommend sharing mats. Thank you for your<br />
cooperation.<br />
SCHWINN GROUP CYCLING CLASSES<br />
Cycling: Build endurance and cardiovascular fitness as<br />
your instructor takes you on a ride on stationary bicycles.<br />
CLASSES FOR OLDER ADULTS<br />
Get Fit, Stay Fit! A combination of aerobic conditioning,<br />
weights, flexibility work, abdominal exercises, and<br />
stretching to get you fit and keep you fit.<br />
Fit For Life: Enjoy the benefits of cardiovascular, balance,<br />
and core training.<br />
Seniors in Motion: A combination of light cardiovascular<br />
exercise and strength training.<br />
: Join the party! Latin-infused cardio dance<br />
designed for beginners and active older adults.<br />
