3.6 OCCUPATION
Tables 3.7.1 and 3.7.2 show data on employed women and men by their occupation. Agriculture
is the dominant sector of the economy; 58 percent of employed women and 84 percent of employed men
work in agriculture. Most of the women and men currently working in nonagricultural sectors are
engaged in sales and services followed by skilled manual professions. For women working in agriculture,
the data are also presented by type of land holding. Comparable data on land holding is not available
for men. The majority of women (53 percent) work on their own land.
