QI’ve recently gone back out into the dating scene. I was
married for five years and with my husband for five
years before that. My girlfriend set me up with this
great guy. We went on a date Friday night and had a great time.
After I got home, I texted my girlfriend to tell her how things
went. Much to my surprise my girlfriend informed me that my
date got another girl’s number at some point in the night. My
dilemma is he has asked me out again. Should I let it slide and go
out with him?

I’m talking to this guy I’ve known casually for a little
over a year now. He’s really nice and we have been talking
on the phone and texting back and forth for a few
weeks. He has asked me to go away with him for the weekend. Is
that moving too fast?

I’m sorry to tell you if he is getting another woman’s
number while on a date with you that is not a good sign.
Maybe it was a one time thing, but chances are it’s not. If he is
on a date with you that’s where his attention should be. If the
date was a bomb and you didn’t hear from him again, that’s
one thing, but the fact that he asked you out again tells me he
was having a good time too and is trying to be a player. If you
want to go out with him again you risk getting hurt. My advice
is simple—if he calls, tell this loser you are not interested. You
deserve better than that.

It all depends. I think the biggest question is do you feel
safe? If you feel safe going with him; I say go for it! You
may end up having a really good time. Remember you don’t
have to do anything you don’t want to do. If you feel overly
pressured or that you may end up doing something you don’t
want to do, then stay home. But if you feel that you know him
well enough I say go. After all, we could all use a little get
away.
