The Catalyst 6500 series switches allow you to mix AC-input and DC-input power supplies in the same
chassis.
Note
Many telco organizations require a –48 VDC power supply to accommodate their power distribution
systems. From an operational perspective, the DC-input power supply has the same characteristics as the
AC-input version.
