Grasp the power supply handle with one hand, and slide the power supply part of the way out of the<br />

chassis. Place your other hand underneath the power supply, as shown in Figure 4-7, and slide the power<br />

supply completely out of the chassis.<br />

Step 7 If the power supply bay is to remain empty, install a blank faceplate (Cisco part number 700-03104-01)<br />

over the opening, and secure it with the captive installation screw.<br />

If you have removed an 8700 W power supply from either a <strong>Catalyst</strong> 6506, <strong>Catalyst</strong> 6509, or<br />

<strong>Catalyst</strong> 6509-NEB chassis and you have disconnected the system (NEBS) ground from the power<br />

supply system ground studs, make sure that you reattach the system ground lug to either the chassis<br />

system ground pad if you are not installing a new 8700 W power supply or to the system ground studs<br />

if you are installing a new 8700 W power supply.<br />
