Hampton Lake
Fishing Report
Well the weather is cooling off and so is the lake. The fishing is
getting more challenging, yet it is a very pleasant time of year to
be out on the water. The fish aren’t eating as much as they do in
the spring, but they’re still active. If you’re struggling with getting
bites, we recommend slowing down your retrieve and presentation.
Matching the food source is an excellent tactic too. Bluegill and
Threadfin Shad are the main forage fish the Tiger Bass and Hybrids
feed on. By using lures that resemble these fish, you will increase
your chances of success. For more helpful fishing tips, join us at
our monthly Fishing Club meetings in the Lakeview room every 2 nd
Saturday of the month at 2:00pm.
Overall our Fundraising Results
from Tiger Bass Weekend
Proceeds from the Tiger Bass Weekend events including the
Bluffton Self Help Fishing Tournament and the Tiger Bass 5K and
1 Mile Fun Run on October 1 st , raised an astonishing $4,671.49.
After seeing our fundraising total, David Weekley’s owner and
founder more than doubled that total with a check of $10,000.00.
Thanks to all who participated, organized, sponsored and donated
to both events. Your donations and participation helped raise
a grand total of $14,671.49 for the Bluffton Self Help Building
Campaign. These efforts and contributions helped Bluffton Self
Help expand and recently open their doors to a new, larger facility
in Sheridan Park. They now will be able to better serve and assist
families in need in our community.
