first Thursday of every month in the
Lakehouse. Everyone is welcome to join.

Jamie Ford. “The Help” by Katherine Scott is the reading for

Softshell Crab Night
SATURDAY, APRIL 16TH ~ 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Backwater Bill’s will host its Monthly
Theme Night this Saturday. Softshell
crabs will be featured plus a whole lot
more. Reservations are required for this
event as space is limited. Contact Danielle

and cost. Backwater Bill’s will not be serving the normal dinner
menu on this special evening.
Easter Egg Hunt
SUNDAY, APRIL 24TH ~ 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
The lawn behind the Lakehouse is the
place to be this Easter Sunday for an
Easter Egg Hunt! The Easter Bunny will
be around for pictures and all the fun!
Be sure to bring your own Easter Baskets.
There is no cost for this event planned for
children 10 years of age and younger. Reservations required by
Friday, April 22nd.
Tiger Bass Open
FRIDAY, MAY 6TH & SATURDAY, MAY 7TH
Friday - 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm Rules & Boat Rotation Meeting

7:00 pm - 8:00 pm Awards & Dinner
It’s our first Tiger Bass Open fishing
tournament! Participants will gather for an
informal Captain’s meeting on the evening
of May 6th at the Lakehouse and fish all day
on May 7th followed by awards and dinner
at the Lakehouse. All fishing teams must consist of at least
one member. The registration form is posted on the Member
Website, so sign up and come join us for a day of fishing and

Wine Dinner
FRIDAY, MAY 13TH ~ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Come to Backwater Bill’s on this Friday
for a wine dinner! A selection of fine wines
will be featured and paired with tantalizing

Fishing Report
Spring arrived early this year with water temperatures in the 60s
by late February. Our Tiger Bass began spawning the first week of
March which is about two weeks earlier than normal. With the warm
weather came fantastic fishing conditions - hungry bass! While they
do get a little finicky while on their beds, the bite before and after is
probably the best of the year. As it warms up in April and May, target
deep water structure and sharp depth transition areas. Lures of
choice are plastic worms, plastic jerk baits, crankbaits, spinnerbaits
and jigs. In other words, if it’s in your tackle box, give it a try!
Trolling with crankbaits and rat-l-traps continues to be a good bet
for catching hybrids. As always, the bluegills at the Boathouse are
ready for the kids! Enjoy the weather and the fishing and be sure to
join us for the Tiger Bass Open!
