NETWORKS AND EMULATIONS CHAPTER 3 You can set the following basic options: • Continuous redial. • Redial attempts. • Beep on connection. Loopback This option provides a diagnostic facility for testing emulations. This should only be used on instruction from Technical Support. Emulations SkyLite supports the following emulations: Emulations Page DEC VT52, VT100, VT220 (7 bit & 8 bit) VT320, VT420. 46 ANSI (+ Color). 48 SCO ANSI Console. 48 DEC Emulations SkyLite supports the following DEC terminals: VT52, VT100, VT220, VT320 and VT420. You can configure the DEC terminal in two stages, an initial stage and an advanced stage. The initial configuration stage allows you to define the screen size and display mode, i.e., which colors will be displayed. You can either select a predefined screen size or define your own. To define your own screen size: Enable Custom; then type or select the number of Columns and Rows you want: 46 POISE-SkyLite User Guide
CHAPTER 3 NETWORKS AND EMULATIONS To set the Display mode, choose one of the following options: Color Uses color to indicate text attributes (bold, underline, reverse, etc.) Color + flash Similar to Color but with flash enabled. This is flashing text programmed by the host, usually for information or emphasis. Green Green on black; this is the standard dumb terminal setting. Amber Amber on black. White White on black. SkyLite’s default color setting. Sculpted This gives a Windows look and feel. You should NOT use this option in conjunction with enhanced OpenVMS-based POISE applications. Note: You can modify these colors. See Configuring Screen Attributes on page 35. Click on the Advanced button to configure the advanced options. Select the options as follows: User keys Select Locked or Unlocked to lock or unlock function keys. Cursor keys Select Normal or Application to select the response the key should send to the host (this option should be set by the system administrator only). Backspace key Select Backspace or DEL to define the character sent to the host when you press the backspace key. Keypad keys Select Numeric or Application to choose whether keypad keys have their normal numeric function or are specific to an application (this option should be set by the system administrator only). Answerback Use Answerback to specify a message to be returned to the host from SkyLite when the host requests an answerback message. Auto-wrap Select Auto-wrap to wrap text around the screen.
