PV256 Low-Power Pinch Valve
Specifications
Instech’s dual channel pinch valve uses a motordriven
cam coupled to a position-sensing rotary
switch. This innovative design consumes a fraction
of the power required by traditional solenoid
pinch valves.
Features
Two tubes, three states. A pinched, B pinched or A + B
pinched. Both tubes are never open at the same time.
Minimal power consumption. The miniature DC motor consumes
power only when switching from one state to
another. The transition current peak, whichs last a
fraction of a second, is lower than the steady-on current
of solenoid pinch valves (see graph below). The
power-efficiency also leads to much lower heat generation.
Low EMI.The valve is driven by a Swiss-made ironlesscore
low-inductance motor which minimizes electromagnetic
radiation.
Small size. The valve weighs only 36 grams.
External control. Position outputs are available for status
checking and control. Instech’s engineering department
is available to assist in design integration.
