1. Set the thread tension dial at 1-3, and stitch length at<br />
3-4, sew straight lines 1 cm (3/8˝) apart across the<br />
area to be smocked.<br />
Knot the needle and bobbin threads along one edge.<br />
Pull the bobbin threads and distribute gathers evenly.<br />
2. Sew lines of the decorative pattern between the<br />
straight seams. Pull out the gathering stitches.<br />
