1 Fold a hem with the wrong side up forming a<br />
0.4-0.7 cm (3/16-5/16˝) allowance.<br />

(1) On heavy weight fabrics that ravel, the raw edge<br />
should be overcast first.<br />
(2) Fold the hem under the fabric as illustrated for fine or<br />
medium fabrics.<br />
2 Place the fabric so that the folded edge is next to the<br />
guide on the foot. Lower the presser foot.<br />
Adjust the needle drop position if necessary. Sew<br />
guiding the folded edge along the guide on the foot.<br />

Adjusting the needle drop position<br />

The needle drop position can be adjusted by pressing the<br />
stitch width adjustment keys.<br />
(1) Press the plus (+) key to move the needle drop<br />
position to the left.<br />
(2) Press the minus (–) key to move the needle drop<br />
position to the right.<br />
The LED display shows “ 0.6 ” that indicates a distance<br />
between the guide and left needle drop position in millimeter.<br />
NOTE: The needle drop position will move to the left or<br />
right, but the stitch width is remained the same.<br />
