Trim off the corner of the fabric 0.5 cm (3/16˝) by<br />
0.8 cm (5/16˝) to avoid a bulkiness of the hem at the<br />
corner.<br />
Fold the fabric edge twice 0.3 cm (1/8˝) wide and 6 cm<br />
(2 3/8˝) long.<br />

Place the fabric aligning the hem edge with the guide<br />
on the foot. Lower the foot and sew several stitches<br />
while pulling both threads to the back.<br />
Stop the machine with the needle in the fabric and<br />
raise the presser foot. Insert the folded portion of the<br />
fabric into the curl of the foot.<br />
Lower the foot and sew while lifting up the fabric edge<br />
to keep it feeding smoothly and evenly.<br />

Depress the foot control and the machine will sew an<br />
eyelet and stop automatically.<br />
Open the eyelet with a small awl or punch.<br />
If the eyelet opens or overlaps when sewing on certain<br />
materials, correct it by pressing stitch length adjustment<br />
keys as follows:<br />
Press the minus (–) key if the eyelet is open (The LED<br />
display shows “ L1 ”).<br />
Press the plus (+) key if the eyelet overlaps (The LED<br />
display shows “ L3 ”).<br />
NOTE: The default setting is “ L2 ”.<br />
