Here at Edinburgh’s <strong>Telford</strong> <strong>College</strong> we are pleased<br />

to offer a range of <strong>courses</strong> starting in January 2011,<br />

enabling International students who have missed the<br />

main August intake to commence their studies with us.<br />

HNC DENTAL<br />

TECHNOLOGY<br />

(with progression to HND Dental<br />

Technology)<br />

What: This one year course will provide students with all the<br />

essential practical and theoretical knowledge they require to<br />

progress on to our HND in Dental Technology.<br />

Where will this take you: Upon successful completion of the<br />

HNC year, you will be able to progress in to year two of our HND<br />

in Dental Technology. Edinburgh’s <strong>Telford</strong> <strong>College</strong> is the only<br />

college in Scotland to teach this qualification and our graduates<br />

are in high demand! After the HND, you can apply for the 2 year<br />

Post Study Work Visa which will allow you to work in the UK for 2<br />

years. (Only applicable after completion of a Scottish HND)<br />

When: Starts on Monday 31st January 2011<br />

How much: £5700 per year<br />

Entry Requirements: A National Certificate (NC) in Dental<br />

Technology or a Bachelor Degree in Dental Studies. English<br />

Language proficiency must be IELTS 5.5 or an equivalent UKBA<br />

recognised certificate.<br />

HND BUSINESS<br />

What: This two year course will give you every opportunity<br />

in today’s dynamic business world. It is designed to help you<br />

develop the skills and knowledge required by employers<br />

looking for administrators, supervisors and managers.<br />

Where will this take you: Upon successful completion,<br />

you may be able progress into the third year of a Business<br />

related degree at one of our many partner Universities.<br />

Alternatively, you can apply for the 2 year Post Study Work<br />

Visa which will allow you to work in the UK for 2 years. (Only<br />

applicable after completion of a Scottish HND)<br />

When: Starts on Monday 31st January 2011<br />

How much: £5700 per year<br />

Entry Requirements: High School Diploma with passes at<br />

55% (or equivalent). English <strong>language</strong> proficiency must be<br />

IELTS 5.5 or an equivalent UKBA recognised certificate.<br />

HNC COMPUTING<br />

(with progression to HND)<br />

What: After successful completion of this one year course, students will be<br />

able to join year two of our specialised HND Computing <strong>courses</strong> in Technical<br />

Support or Software Development. These <strong>courses</strong> will ensure that graduates<br />

are well equipped for the fast paced world of Computing in the global market.<br />

Where will this take you: Upon successful completion of the HND, you<br />

may be able progress into the third year of a related discipline at University.<br />

Alternatively, you can apply for the 2 year Post Study Work Visa which will<br />

allow you to work in the UK for 2 years. (Only applicable after completion of<br />

a Scottish HND)<br />

When: Starts on Monday 31st January 2011<br />

How much: £5500 per year<br />

Entry Requirements: High School Diploma with passes at 55% (or<br />

equivalent). English <strong>language</strong> proficiency must be IELTS 5.5 or an equivalent<br />

UKBA recognised certificate.<br />

ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSES<br />

Our specially designed English Language <strong>courses</strong> are fully accredited<br />

by the British Council and perfect for International students looking to<br />

improve their English before starting a Higher National qualification<br />

or degree course in August 2011.<br />

ENGLISH LANGUAGE FOUNDATON<br />

PROGRAMME<br />

What: This course focuses on General English improvement for those who<br />

wish to practice their English before sitting for IELTS or the Cambridge First<br />

Certificate.<br />

When: Starts on Monday 10th January 2011<br />

How much: £3265 for 6 months (January - June)<br />

Entry Requirements: High School Diploma. English Language proficiency<br />

must be IELTS 4.0 or an equivalent UKBA recognised certificate.<br />

ENGLISH FOR ACADEMIC PURPOSES<br />

(EAP)<br />

What: This course focuses on preparing students for study at University or<br />

Higher National Diploma level and also for the IELTS examination. There is<br />

also emphasis on English fluency.<br />

When: Starts on Monday 10th January 2011<br />

How much: £3265 for 6 months (January - June)<br />

Entry Requirements: High School Diploma. English Language proficiency<br />

must be IELTS 4.5 or an equivalent UKBA recognised certificate.<br />

ENGLISH PLUS<br />

What: This course combines intensive English with other subject areas, that<br />

you will be studying in the near future. For example, English plus Computing<br />

or English plus Business.<br />

When: Starts on Monday 10th January 2011<br />

How much: £3300 for 6 months (January - June)<br />

Entry Requirements: High School Diploma. English Language proficiency<br />

must be IELTS 5.0 or an equivalent UKBA recognised certificate.
