ment was made only after Adam and Eve had
sinned. Because their children born outside Eden
could only come forth sinners, they were appointed
to death . "The wages sin pays is death ." Romans
6 :23, NW Not having been directly on
trial and responsible before God in Eden, a future
judgment would be possible for them by God's
merciful arrangement. When God announced to
the Devil in Eden that the Seed of God's "woman"
would bruise the Serpent's head, this proved
God has purposed the arrangement . The bruising
of that wicked one's head would open up the way
for Adam's offspring to be resurrected out of the
graves of death and be given the opportunities
and benefits of a judgment day on their very own
responsibility.-Ezekiel 18 :20-23 .
6 It is only "once for all time" that Adam's
descendants can die because of what he disobediently
did in Eden before their birth. When born
as his offspring it unavoidably awaited them to
die or merely exist under the inherited condemnation
of death . Honest-hearted David expressed
their condition when he said : "Behold, I was
shapen in iniquity ; and in sin did my mother conceive
me." Psalm 51 :5 When put personally on
judgment before God, then they cannot hold Adam
responsible for whether they gain eternal life
then or suffer everlasting destruction, "the second
death ." Revelation 2 :11 ; 20 :6 It does not unavoidably
await men nor is it appointed to them
to die AFTER they enter the period of judgment .
Everlasting salvation is possible for them, and
