90 "THIS MEANS EVERLASTING LIFE"
Friday afternoon, April 1, A.D. 33. Jesus and
his apostles celebrated the passover the preceding
night, March 31 . Since Jesus was thirty years old
when he was anointed at the close of the sixtyninth
week, he added three and a half years to
his earthly life by the middle of the seventieth .
So, since he was thirty-three and a half years old
when he died, he must have been born the night
of about October 1, B.C. 2 .
14 By Jesus' own sacrifice he fulfilled the type
of the Jewish sacrifices . Fifty-three days later, at
Pentecost of A .D. 33, he offered up the antitypical
oblation or offering to God by anointing his faithful
disciples on earth with the holy spirit . Though
Jewish priests kept offering sacrifices and oblations
at Herod's temple in Jerusalem till A .D . 70
saw it destroyed, Jesus caused such sacrifice and
oblation to cease or desist from having typical
value or any divine recognition. God now accepted
only the realities of true value .
1,3 The middle or midst of the seventieth week
was marked by cutting off Messiah in sacrificial
martyrdom . The end of that week in the fall of
A.D. 36 must likewise be marked . All through
that week the Abrahamic covenant of blessing
continued confirmed to the "many" of the Jewish
remnant who accepted Jesus as "Messiah the
Prince" . The anointing of the holy of holies, God's
sanctuary class, continued during that final week
