"Because Messiah was thus innocently "cut
off", being rejected by the Jewish religious leaders
and turned over to Gentile hands to be executed,
the things described in the rest of Daniel
9 :26 came as a judgment from God upon Jerusalem
and the unbelieving Jews . Not, of course, in
the final week of the seventy weeks of years .
After Messiah was cut off, the difficulties of the
Jews with themselves and with the Roman government
continued and increased . History shows
that, thirty-seven years after Messiah the Prince
was cut off as a martyr, the Roman prince and
general Titus, son of Emperor Vespasian, came
with a host of warrior people against rebellious
Jerusalem and destroyed both it and its profaned
temple . This took place August 31, A.D . 70 Gregorian
Calendar , about forty-one years after
Messiah was anointed . Truly war to the end and
the "desolations determined" by the Supreme
Judge came upon them .

foretold period was unquestionably meant when
the angel Gabriel said, in the last verse of the
prophecy : "And he shall make a firm covenant
with many for one week : and in the midst of the
