reading of the Bible .
12 The apostle Paul, too, writes of the precedence
of the Bible over Christianity and of the
benefits that Christians receive from studying it
rather than religious traditions of false shepherds .
He quotes the pre-Christian Psalms when he
writes : "Just as it is written : The reproaches of
those who were reproaching you have fallen upon
me .' For all the things that were written aforetime
were written for our instruction, that
through our endurance and through the comfort
from the Scriptures we might have hope ." Romans
15 :3,4, NW Do you want light, comfort
and hope? Then read those inspired ancient writings.
Do you want to be wise for gaining salvation?
Then read and heed those Scriptures . Paul's
words to the young man Timothy are for your
information and assurance : "From infancy you
have known the holy writings which are able to
make you wise for salvation through the faith
in connection with Christ Jesus . All Scripture is
inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for
reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining
in righteousness, that the man of God
