benefit of the permanent heir of God's Kingdom<br />

covenant, Jesus Christ . He, above all, must<br />

be a student of God's written Word, the Bible .<br />

Did he have the books of the Bible in his day?<br />

Yes, the majority of them, thirty-nine of the<br />

present-day sixty-six inspired books . The Bible<br />

he had was entirely a Jewish or Hebrew book,<br />

written in Hebrew and the related language of<br />

Aramaic, and it had been collected by devoted<br />

Hebrews . The writing of the book of Moses in its<br />

five sections now known as Genesis, Exodus,<br />

Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy, began at<br />

God's command in the year he delivered the Hebrews<br />

from Egypt. That was in 1513 B .C ., or at<br />

least 760 years before the traditional date<br />

753 B.C. of the founding of the city of Rome .<br />

Exodus 17 :14 Before ever Rome began expanding<br />

its power in the third century B.C . to<br />

become something of a pagan universal empire,<br />

all the books of the inspired Hebrew Scriptures<br />

had been written, completing their canon . Also<br />

the translation of these Hebrew Scriptures in<br />

Greek to form the Greek Septuagint Version was<br />

begun 280 B.C . . The last books of the Hebrew<br />

Scriptures, namely, Chronicles and the prophecy<br />

of Malachi, were written about the fifth century<br />

B.C. The canon of the entire Bible was completed<br />
