the Law says it addresses to those under the Law,
so that every mouth may be stopped and all the
world may become liable to God for punishment .
Therefore by works of law no flesh will be declared
righteous before him, for by law is the accurate
knowledge of sin . For all have sinned and fall short

12 Since the Law covenant was given to Abraham's
natural descendants, did it set aside the
Abrahamic covenant given four hundred and thirty
years earlier? Thank God, no! And neither did it
set aside or nullify the unconditional promise God
gave still earlier in Eden concerning the woman's
Seed who would bruise the Serpent's head . From
the giving of the Law of Moses to the coming of
that Seed the time was more than fifteen centuries .
For what purpose, then, was the Law added to
God's covenant with Abraham concerning the Seed
of blessing? Hear the inspired interpretation :
13 "As to the covenant previously validated by
God, the Law that has come into being four hundred
and thirty years later does not invalidate it,
so as to abolish the promise . For if the inheritance
is due to law, it is no longer due to promise ; whereas
God has kindly given it to Abraham through a
promise . Why, then, the Law? It was added to
make transgressions manifest, until the seed
should arrive to whom the promise had been
