"Everlasting life in a fiery, sulphurous hell of
torment did not now enter into the world for sinful
mankind, but death did. "Through one man
sin entered into the world and death through sin,
and thus death spread to all men because they
had all sinned ." Romans 5 :12, NW This is why
sin is common to all mankind . Satan the enemy of
life was responsible in the first degree for this .
Sin is not merely a harming of oneself or of some
other person. It is a violation of the law of the
great Creator and Lawgiver . Sin is a missing or
failure to live up to the mark of perfection which
He sets for his creatures . The wages that sin pays
is death to the sinner. Satan the Devil, who has
the power of death, has induced some religionists
to think that death is a blessing. In fact, he has
induced some to believe that total extinction is
the very climax of a creature's experience, the
ideal state of happiness, because it relieves one of
the worries, burdens and pains of living under imperfect
conditions. The soul's being blended into a
universal state of unconsciousness these religionists
call "nirvana" . But destruction or annihilat
