10 For his treachery that made him Satan the
Devil the "anointed cherub that covereth" lost his
position in Eden as guardian of God's interests in
the earth . He would have led man, if allowed to
remain in the paradise of pleasure, to that "tree
of life" for him to eat and live on in spite of God's
sentence . But now other cherubs were stationed
at the entrance to that pleasant garden to prevent
the rebellious anointed cherub from leading man
back to eat of the tree of life . Terrible destruction
awaits the traitor under the heel of the Seed of
God's "woman" . Speaking prophetically as though
it was already accomplished, God says to him :
