righteous new world . God could justly have destroyed
Adam and Eve at once for their sin, without
letting them bring children into the earth .
Then none of us would have been born and had
the opportunity to learn of the only true God and
Jesus Christ, to know both of whom means everlasting
life . But Satan had raised an issue that
touched God and affected all the universe . To
destroy Satan at once would not have settled it
to the satisfaction of all living creation . That he
would settle it in his fixed time he gave his unconditional
promise in the hearing of Satan and
