This world's rulers are not moved by divine
wisdom, despite all the prayers and nicely worded
blessings of their clergy allies . At the present-day
climax of the controversy over the paramount issue
of universal sovereignty the rulers of all nations
are making the mistake their political prototypes
made nineteen centuries ago . They side with
the "god of this system of things" and are opposing
Jehovah God and his Christ, our Lord Jesus .
They match worldly wisdom against divine wisdom
: "This wisdom not one of the rulers of this
system of things came to know, for if they had
known it they would not have impaled the glorious
Lord ." 1 Corinthians 2 :8, NW In effect, the
world rulers of today impale the faithful witnesses
who preach the good news of the kingdom of our
glorious Lord Jesus Christ, whom God enthroned
A.D . 1914 at the end of the "appointed times of
the nations".

offer no protection to the people against Satan
and his demons who, in their rage at being ousted
from heaven, are bringing appalling woes upon
