to be given overseers of God's devoted people
"Give orders to those who are rich in the present
system of things not to be arrogant, and to rest
their hope, not on uncertain riches, but on God,
who furnishes us all things richly for our enjoyment
; to work at good, to be rich in right works,
to be liberal, ready to share, safely treasuring up
for themselves a right foundation for the future,
in order that they may get a firm hold on the real

4 The political governments of this world, which
favor and depend upon the commercial system,
claim to be the protectors of the people, and they
appropriate great sums of money for the national
defense . In the attempt to hold the world organization
together in a mutual tolerance and to stave
off further world war with its possible destruction
of civilization, they build up a form of international
union . The political promoters, the commercial
systems, and the religious clergy who are
allied with these and who court these for favor,
support and protection, plead with the people to
support and trust in the loosely jointed international
union . Many are the people of all nations
who are persuaded or frightened into placing
their trust in such man-made political devices .
They do this contrary to God's warning : "Put not
your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in
whom there is no help. His breath goeth forth, he
