300 "THIS MEANS EVERLASTING LIFE"
mankind during the judgment day of a thousand
years .-2 Peter 3 :7, 8.
3 The fact that "scrolls were opened" in the vision
shows that the judgment day is to be a time
of much education in the righteous will of God
and his requirements for everlasting life . Now
that God's kingdom has been set up it is already
proving true : "When thy judgments are in the
earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness,"
if they seek God as Teacher and obey
him .-Isaiah 26 :9 .
That another scroll, "the scroll of life," is
opened in the vision proves that the judgment day
affords an opportunity for life . All those restored
from the grave and all those alive on earth, from
the least of them to the greatest of them the
princes , all may win the prize of everlasting life
in perfection on the paradise earth . This wondrous
opportunity is further made possible in that they
are all then judged, not according to their past
works before the establishment of God's kingdom
in 1914, but according to their works under God's
Righteous Ruler, Jesus Christ . He, as God's High
Priest who was himself once a man amid Satan's
world, can sympathize with them . He can use his
sacrifice and priestly powers to cleanse them, forgive
them and lift them out of sin to a perfectly
pure condition mentally and physically, able to
meet God's perfect approval . But before God justifies
them or declares them righteous in themselves
and writes their names in the scroll of life, they
