240 "THIS MEANS EVERLASTING LIFE"<br />

adds to the sign that we are living in the consummation<br />

of this system of things and that he has<br />

come into his kingdom and is invisibly present.<br />

Jesus did not introduce it like other parables with<br />

the words, "The kingdom of the heavens is like<br />

or, will become like ," but said : "When the Son<br />

of man arrives in his glory and all the angels with<br />

him, then he will sit down on his glorious throne .<br />

And all the nations will be gathered before him,<br />

and he will separate people one from another,<br />

just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the<br />

goats . And he will put the sheep on his right hand,<br />

but the goats on his left ."-Matthew 25 :31-33, NW.<br />

7 In the preceding three parables Jesus described<br />

the judgment he holds with those who are in line<br />

for the heavenly kingdom. He separates them into<br />

the faithful, discreet slave class and the evil slave<br />

class, the discreet virgin class and the foolish virgin<br />

class, and the good, faithful servant class and<br />

the wicked sluggish slave class . Now in this final<br />

parable Jesus describes the judgment of the people<br />

of the nations which results in separating<br />

them, some like sheep to the King's right hand<br />

of favor and protection, and some like goats to<br />

his left hand of disfavor and condemnation . The<br />

angels share with him in the separating work .<br />

"Then the king will say to those on his right :<br />

Come, you who have my Father's blessing, inherit<br />

the kingdom prepared for you from the<br />
