him to become a perfect man that he might be a<br />

corresponding ransom for the perfect human life<br />

that Adam forfeited for himself and lost for all<br />

mankind by his willful sin in Eden . But as long<br />

as Jesus enjoyed human life himself he could not<br />

be a corresponding ransom for dying mankind .<br />

He must sacrifice that perfect human life by dying<br />

in sinless innocence according to God's will. In<br />

that way he would release that perfect human<br />

life and the right to it and make it an asset which<br />

he could apply before God in heaven as a purchase<br />

price for mankind. He could apply the merit of his<br />

human righteousness as a means of canceling the<br />

sin and condemnation against believing men .<br />

5 Though condemned as a sinner by self-righteous<br />

religious Jews, he died holy and righteous as a<br />

ransom sacrifice . Peter said to them at the temple<br />

: "Yes, you disowned that holy and righteous<br />

one, and you asked for a man, a murderer, to be<br />

freely granted to you, whereas you killed the Chief<br />

Agent of life . But God raised him up from the<br />

dead, of which fact we are witnesses ." Acts<br />

3 :14,15, NW <strong>This</strong> same Peter tells us that God<br />

resurrected Jesus Christ a spirit : "Christ died<br />

once for all time concerning sins, a righteous person<br />

for unrighteous ones, that he might lead you<br />

to God, he being put to death in the flesh, but being<br />

made alive in the spirit ." 1 Peter 3 :18, NW<br />

By not being made alive again in the flesh, he<br />

left his perfect human life as a sacrifice to ransom<br />

dying mankind. He said : "The bread that I<br />
