MARRIAGE
AMONG THE HEIRS OF LIFE
MARRIAGE was the means by which Jehovah
God the Creator purposed that our
earth should be peopled. He himself performed
the first marriage by creating the first
woman and bringing her to the man Adam with
whose rib as a base God had made her . He put
them together, and, says Jesus, "what God has
yoked together let no man put apart." Matthew
19 :6,'NW Approving the marriage and stating
its purpose, "God created Man in his image, in
the image of God created he him ; male and female
created he them. And God blessed them ; and God
said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the
earth, and subdue it ." When the earth's population
was reduced to only four men and four women
by the global flood, and these came out of the
ark of their salvation, "God blessed Noah and his
sons, and said to them, Be fruitful and multiply,
and fill the earth ." Genesis 1 :27,28 and 9 :1,
Dar. Thus 1,656 years after Adam's creation,
God showed that his purpose concerning marriage
had not changed, namely, the producing of children
to spread humankind over all the globe that
it might be comfortably inhabited .
