With such confidence we can take up this study
of the ones who go to heaven .
2 Before Jesus Christ began preaching, "The
kingdom of heaven is at hand," no creature on
earth had basis for hoping to go to heaven and
live there as a spirit person . No creature from
earth could precede Jesus Christ into heaven . As
God's High Priest, he must be the first to enter,
the forerunner. Then only could his followers have
hope of following him there . "This hope we have
as an anchor for the soul, both sure and firm, and
it enters in within the curtain, where a forerunner
has entered in our behalf, Jesus, who has become
a high priest after the likeness of Melchizedek
forever."-Hebrews 6 :19,20, NW .
s What requirements must we meet to walk in
the way that leads to heavenly life? Speaking to
Nicodemus one night, Jesus set out the general
requirements : "Unless anyone is born again, he
cannot see the kingdom of God ." Man has already
been born human, fleshly, earthly, bearing the
image of Adam . What kind of birth must this
second birth be to put him into God's heavenly
kingdom? Not another human birth, Jesus explained
to Nicodemus : "Unless anyone is born
from water and spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom
of God . What has been born from the flesh
is flesh, and what has been born from the spirit
