spreading musical education and appreciation to people of all ages. Mr. Hurley believes in
providing a positive teaching environment that motivates students to further their education and
enjoyment of music. He has also had many years of experience teaching violin students and
playing in professional symphony orchestras across the southern United States. Some of his
and 4th grade students basic technique and reading skills as well as working in several local
school music programs as a long term substitute orchestra teacher, competing in the OMEA solo
and ensemble contest for large group orchestra earning both I and II ratings respectively. She has
been teaching violin, cello, viola and fiddle privately since 2003 while also maintaining a busy
schedule as a professional musician in the local music scene as a bluegrass
instrumentalist/vocalist, solo artist and in-demand session musician recording in several local
studios. She has been playing since the age of 7 starting on the violin and french horn, and
eventually picking up viola and cello before acquiring guitar, banjo, mandolin and fiddle skills as
well. She is very excited to be a part of the Northern Kentucky School of Music and working
with its staff to help create a fertile learning environment for future musicians.
