Le Rocher du Diamant is a volcanic rock rising 575<br />
feet above the sea. This is a precious rock, as it has<br />
played an important role in the wars between the<br />
British and the French. In 1804, the British installed<br />
cannons there, and on martime maps they inscribed<br />
the name of the rock as if it were a ship: « H.M.S.<br />
