Line from Intermountain station in central Utah to Adelanto station in<br />

southern California (IPPDC)<br />

The IPPDC line is a ±500 kV DC bipole system. Power flow on the DC line<br />

is measured at the Intermountain end.<br />

Intermountain to Adelanto (NE-SW): 2400 MW<br />

Adelanto to Intermountain (SW-NE): 1400 MW<br />

Loss of the IPPDC bipole line.<br />

The non-simultaneous transfer rating was established by the Joint WECC<br />

Peer Review Group and <strong>Western</strong> Arizona Transmission Systems (WATS)<br />

Task Force. The WATS Task Force was comprised of members from the<br />

following companies:<br />

DOE-<strong>Western</strong> Area Power Administration<br />

Imperial Irrigation District<br />

Los Angeles Department of Water and Power<br />

Nevada Power Company<br />

Public Service Company of New Mexico<br />

San Diego Gas and Electric Company<br />

Southern California Edison Company<br />

Southern California Public Power Authority<br />

Tucson Electric Power Company<br />

The Accepted <strong>Rating</strong> for NE-SW transfer of 2400MW was established in the<br />

LADWP sponsored <strong>Path</strong> 27 Project studies conducted within a WECC review<br />

Group that led to approval of the Accepted <strong>Rating</strong> Report. By the WECC<br />

PCC Chair’s letter dated October 03, 2007, <strong>Path</strong> 27 Upgrade <strong>Rating</strong> was<br />

granted Phase III status.<br />

The Existing <strong>Rating</strong> for SW-NE transfer of 1400MW was established in<br />

conjunction with the DOE Form IE-411 reporting in 1989. The SW-NE<br />

rating was established jointly by LADWP and PacifiCorp-Utah Power.<br />
