Southwestern Utah to Southern Nevada
Red Butte‐Harry Allen 345 kV line, Harry Allen 345 kV phase shifting
and 345/230 kV transformers. Metering point is at the NV‐UT state line.
North to South: 400 MW increasing to 600 MW in May, 2014 with the
addition of the Sigurd‐Red Butte #2 345 kV line.
South to North: 580 MW
Non‐simultaneous: Steady state operating limit of Red Butte SVS prior
to June 2015. After June 2015 steady state thermal limitation (MVA)
will be the Harry Allen 345 kV phase shifting transformers.
Simultaneous: Intermountain‐Adelanto 500 kV bi‐pole DC line outage.
Ratings were established in Gateway South TOT 2B/2C Path Rating
Study Report approved by WECC on June 21, 2011.
Ratings determined for peak summer and off peak conditions with
maximum simultaneous TOT 2B/2C flows and near maximum overall
TOT 2 flow conditions.

Gateway South TOT 2B/2C Path Rating Study demonstrated interaction
with TOT 2B1, TOT 2B2, and IPPDC line under moderate to heavy
IPPDC import conditions. Previous COI studies have identified
interaction with TOT 2.
