Since the publication in July 2003 of The Building
Regulations 2000 Resistance to the Passage of Sound
Approved Document E, Nicobond has been at the forefront
in providing a solution to reduce the transmission
of impact sound on ceramic tiled floors. The crux of this
regulation is the need to minimise the effects of noise
pollution in all its forms. In a multi storey building used
as a dwelling and constructed with concrete floors the
use of an acoustic attenuation system is now an
absolute requirement.
N&C Nicobond manufactures Acoustic Matting to
provide compliance with these regulations. It minimises

Acoustic Matting is manufactured from recycled rubber

Mapegum WPS is a fast drying liquid membrane used
for the interior waterproofing of bathroom and shower
walls prior to installing ceramic tiles. The Shower
Waterproofing Primer, a ready-to-use water-based synthetic
resin primer, is used for treating porous substrates
prior to application of the Mapegum WPS. The
Waterproofing Tape, used in combination with
Mapegum WPS, provides a highly flexible waterproofing
seal to internal corners, board joints and junctions.

New dual-speed multi-tool is ideal for delicate tasks
Dremel has introduced a new dual-speed multi-tool, compatible with all Dremel accessories
and attachments, at an attractive price. A versatile tool for detailed applications,
the Dremel 200 Series is the perfect entry-level multi-tool for the novice and occasional
user. It is recommended for all light DIY and hobby projects, such as engraving, grinding,
cutting, sanding, carving and polishing.
It has a 125 watt motor and two-speed setting (15,000 and 35,000 rpm) for better control

Tile Giant takes new ranges from British Ceramic Tile
Two stylish new wall tile ranges have been produced by British Ceramic Tile exclusively for the UK’s fast growing
tile retailer; Tile Giant. The first, Floral (above), is a range of mix and match colourways which are equally at home
in the bathroom or kitchen. The design can be used in both contemporary and traditional schemes, either on its
own or teamed with its bright white high gloss partner. The textured white detail and subtle hints of lustre give an
added sparkle and provide an attractive feature in any setting. The tiles are available in three colourways (white,
black and red) in a 248 by 398mm format.
Microdot (above) is a new contemporary collection offering the latest in ceramic print technology and materials,
producing an exciting surface in a range of co-ordinating colours. Homeowners can use the black and white together
for a classic look, or use the red to provide a vibrant and energising scheme. The tiles can also be combined with
the feature strip for a striking and luxurious effect. The tiles are available in four colourways (white, black, metallic
and red) in the same 248 by 398mm format. The complementary cased strip and inset are available in 249 by
20mm and 248 by 398mm respectively.
