Superintendent/President’s Message for the 2012 Catalog<br />
Welcome! On behalf of all of us at <strong>Victor</strong> <strong>Valley</strong> <strong>College</strong>, I would like to<br />
extend our warmest congratulations for your decision to attend <strong>Victor</strong><br />
<strong>Valley</strong> <strong>College</strong>. We are here to help you make a successful transition<br />
from one point in your educational journey to the next. By taking<br />
advantage of superior educational programs and services, you should<br />
have a tremendous experience reaching your goals and expectations.<br />
Our entire faculty and staff are here to assist you in this endeavor.<br />
At <strong>Victor</strong> <strong>Valley</strong> <strong>College</strong>, we define success as making progress toward your life’s goals by achieving<br />
identified student learning outcomes defined in each course we offer. We have a proud tradition of being the<br />
launching pad for careers for thousands of people. We include among these successes national leaders,<br />
scientists, medical professionals, artists, business owners, service industry professionals and more.<br />
We offer years of accumulated experience and a wide-ranging selection of outstanding academic and career<br />
training programs to help you explore and define your future. Whether you are a new or continuing student, I<br />
recommend you become familiar with the information contained in this catalog, as it will be your planning<br />
guide for your experience at <strong>Victor</strong> <strong>Valley</strong> <strong>College</strong>.<br />
For more than a half century, <strong>Victor</strong> <strong>Valley</strong> <strong>College</strong> has offered students the opportunity to prepare<br />
themselves for transfer to baccalaureate degree-granting colleges and universities, an A.A. or A.S. degree,<br />
specialized careers, and advanced career training for the currently employed. At <strong>Victor</strong> <strong>Valley</strong> <strong>College</strong>, there<br />
are programs and services to help you plan your course of study, finance your education, assist you with your<br />
studies, and open doors to an involved campus life.<br />
You have joined us at a momentous time. This spring, the college placed into its inventory a new complex to<br />
support students in the Administration of Justice, Fire Technology, Emergency Medical Services, and<br />
Correction programs. The facility, the <strong>Victor</strong> <strong>Valley</strong> <strong>College</strong> Regional Public Safety Training Center, will<br />
provide students a unique training opportunity for cooperative/cross-training exercises experienced by first<br />
responders while on the job and will be the finest complex of its kind in the Western region of the United<br />
States.<br />

Again, I welcome you to our friendly, beautiful, greener, high-tech campus. It is an ideal learning<br />
