ADAPTED PHYSICAL EDUCATION<br />

PEDA 178 BALLET FOLKLORICO DANCE I<br />

Units: 1.0 - 48-54 hours laboratory. CSU. (No<br />

prerequisite. Grade Option) This course may be taken<br />

four times.<br />

This introductory course is designed so that students<br />

are exposed to the basic elements of Ballet Folklorico<br />

dance. Different techniques from various regions in<br />

Mexico will be covered.<br />

PEDA 180 DANCE IN MUSICAL THEATER<br />

Units: 1.0 - 48-54 hours laboratory. CSU. (No<br />

prerequisite. Grade Option) This course may be taken<br />

four times.<br />

This course is an in-depth performance experience<br />

focusing on styles of body movement for Musical<br />

Theatre stage productions. The fundamentals of dance<br />

will be reviewed, including basic ballet positions and<br />

exercises and basics in tap. Concepts of the history of<br />

dance in musical stage will also be explored.<br />

PEDA 190 SALSA I<br />

Units: 1.0 - 48-54 hours laboratory. CSU, UC. (No<br />

prerequisite. Grade Option) This course may be taken<br />

four times.<br />

Salsa dancing basics, partner basics and beginning<br />

dance patterns.<br />

PEDA 266 BALLET III<br />

Technique and style of intermediate level III ballet<br />

dance. Emphasis on exploring the movement<br />

PEDA 276 DANCE REHEARSAL AND<br />

PERFORMANCE III<br />

Units: 1.0–3.0 - 48-54 hours laboratory per unit. CSU<br />

(No prerequisite. Grade option) This course may be<br />

taken four times.<br />

This course is designed to introduce students to the<br />

methods used for intermediate dance rehearsal and<br />

performance. Students will learn the etiquette of dance<br />

rehearsal and performance, develop skills needed for<br />

quick pick up in dance choreography, and performance<br />

skills needed for dance production purposes. Repetition<br />

of this course provides an increase of developed skills.<br />
