AUTO 91L AUTOMOTIVE BODY LABORATORY<br />
Units: 1.0 - 48-54 hours laboratory. (No prerequisite)<br />
This course may be taken four times.<br />
A laboratory class to develop skills in electrical, auto<br />
body and refinishing procedures.<br />
AUTO 92.0 AUTO BODY DAMAGE ESTIMATING I<br />
Units: 2.0 - 24-27 hours lecture and 24-27 hours<br />
laboratory. (No prerequisite)<br />
This class covers the basic of auto body damage<br />
estimating. Topics covered will include, but not limited<br />
to, sheet metal damage, primary and secondary frame<br />
and/or unibody damage, painting and blending, repair<br />
vs. replacement of components, and two or four wheel<br />
alignment needs.<br />
AUTO 95A AUTOMOTIVE LABORATORY<br />
Units: 1.0 - 48-54 hours laboratory. (No prerequisite)<br />
This course may be taken four times.<br />
A laboratory class to develop skills in engine repair, tune<br />
up, emissions, electrical, suspension, brakes, and<br />
general maintenance procedures.<br />
AUTO 95B AUTOMOTIVE LABORATORY<br />
Units: 2.0 - 96-108 hours laboratory. (No prerequisite)<br />
This course may be taken four times.<br />
A laboratory class to develop skills in engine repair, tune<br />
up, emissions, electrical, suspension, brakes, and<br />
general maintenance procedures.<br />
AUTO 97.0 AUTOMOTIVE AIR CONDITIONING AND<br />
HEATING SYSTEMS<br />
Units: 4.0 - 48-54 hours lecture and 48-54 hours<br />
laboratory. (No prerequisite)<br />
This course covers diagnosis and repair of the<br />
components of the automotive air conditioning and<br />
heating systems; evaporators, compressors, control<br />
valves, condensers, blowers, heater cores, lines and<br />
hoses, mechanical and electronic temperature controls.<br />
Air conditioning and heating related parts will be<br />
disassembled, inspected and determination made of the<br />
serviceability of existing parts. The need for replacement<br />
parts will be established as the components<br />
are reassembled. Recovery and charging of different<br />
systems will be covered from both R-12 and R-134A<br />
systems.<br />
AUTO 97.1 AUTOMOTIVE HEATING, VENTILATION,<br />
AND AIR CONDITIONING, THEORY AND FUNCTION<br />
Units: 3.0 - 48-54 hours lecture. (No prerequisite)<br />
This course covers heating, ventilation, and airconditioning<br />
(HVAC) theory, basic electricity, HVAC<br />
safety procedures, HVAC diagnostic equipment, and<br />
industry approved procedures to diagnose and repair<br />
HVAC malfunctions in the automobile.<br />

AUTO 99 CAR CARE CLINIC<br />
Units: 1.0 - 1.5 lecture hours, 1.5 laboratory hours per<br />
week for nine weeks. (No prerequisite)<br />
This course covers preventative maintenance<br />
techniques for the modern automobile. Instruction will<br />
cover the scheduling of preventive maintenance<br />
procedures, interactions with auto repair shops, vehicle<br />
purchasing techniques, theory and operation of the<br />
engine, drive train, suspension, cooling system, brake<br />
and lighting system.<br />

AVIATION<br />
Aviation Technology training is offered locally at<br />
Southern California Logistics Airport (SCLA) by the<br />
<strong>Victor</strong> <strong>Valley</strong> Aviation Education Consortium. This<br />
program includes all classroom and practical training<br />
required to prepare for the Federal Aviation<br />
Administration (FAA) licensing exams for Airframe and<br />
Power plant Technicians. The program includes three<br />
courses:<br />
• General Aviation;<br />
• Aviation – Power plant; and<br />
• Aviation – Airframe.<br />
The FAA requires that students be able to read and<br />
write competent English and have no criminal record.<br />

AVA 51 GENERAL AVIATION 1<br />
Units: 9.5 – 120-135 hours lecture and 96-108 hours<br />
laboratory. (No prerequisite)<br />
This course is designed to prepare students for a career<br />
in aviation maintenance technology. Topics include<br />
math, basic electricity, basic physics, fluid lines and<br />
fittings and materials and processes.<br />
