PROGRAMS / COURSE DESCRIPTION<br />

Roman and Freestyle wrestling. The course is designed<br />

to emphasize competition and will help the athlete<br />

achieve a higher level of competitive ability through<br />

instruction of skills, techniques, strategy, and personal<br />

evaluation during or after competition. The students will<br />

be given an opportunity to compete at a wide range of<br />

competitive levels. Recommended preparation: CSU,<br />

UC credit pending (UC maximum credit allowed: 4 units)<br />

ATHL 132P PREPARATION FOR INTERCOLLEGIATE<br />

WRESTLING<br />

Units: 0.5-1.0 - (No prerequisite. Grade Option) This<br />

course may be taken four times.<br />

This Wrestling course is designed to satisfy the interest,<br />

development and needs of the highly skilled student<br />

athlete. It will provide students with high level instruction<br />

and experience required for intercollegiate competition.<br />

ATHL 133 MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY<br />

Units: 3.0 - (No prerequisite) This course may be taken<br />

four times.<br />

A cross country course designed to develop the<br />

knowledge, skills and strategy for the serious and<br />

recreational competitive athlete in collegiate long<br />

distance running. The course is designed to emphasize<br />

competition and will help the athlete achieve a higher<br />

level of competitive ability through instruction of skills,<br />

techniques, strategy and personal evaluation during or<br />

after competition. Students will be given an opportunity<br />

to compete. CSU, UC.<br />

ATHL 134P PREPARATION FOR INTERCOLLEGIATE<br />

WOMEN’S TRACK AND FIELD<br />

Units: 0.5-1.0 - (No prerequisite. Grade Option) This<br />

course may be taken four times.<br />

This Women’s Track and Field course is designed to<br />

satisfy the interest, development and needs of the highly<br />

skilled student athlete. It will provide students with high<br />

level instruction and experience required for<br />

intercollegiate competition. CSU<br />

ATHL 135 TRACK AND FIELD (MEN)<br />

Units: 3.0 - (No prerequisite. ATHL 135P recommended)<br />

This course may be taken four times.<br />

Students will demonstrate knowledge of rules, meet<br />

organization, proper mechanics of running, strategies<br />

necessary for competition in collegiate track and<br />

selected field events. Students must demonstrate a<br />

desire to learn, train, accept challenges, and excel in<br />

collegiate track and field. CSU, UC (UC maximum credit<br />

allowed: 4 units)<br />
