In the Filter Properties dialog, type a Filter Name and the path for the Executable<br />

in the corresponding entry boxes.<br />

By convention, the name of the filter should reflect its task, for example:<br />

iisredir2<br />

Also, the executable should point to the iisredir2.dll in the \bin.<br />

For example:<br />

C:\borland\BDP\bin\iisredir2.dll<br />

Click OK.<br />

Your new ISAPI filter appears on the list. You do not need to change the filter<br />

Priority.<br />

Click OK.<br />

3 Add a “borland” virtual directory to your IIS <strong>web</strong> site.<br />

In the Computer Management dialog, right-click Default Web Site and choose<br />

New | Virtual Directory.<br />

The Virtual Directory Creation Wizard appears.<br />

Click Next.<br />

For the Alias, enter “borland”.<br />

The borland virtual directory is required to allow the IIS/IIOP redirector extension<br />

to be located by the IIS <strong>web</strong> <strong>server</strong> when it responds to a URI of: http://<br />

localhost/borland/iisredir2.dll.<br />

For the Directory, browse to \bin.<br />

Click Next to proceed.<br />

For Access Permissions, select “Execute” in addition to “Read” and “Run scripts”<br />

which are selected by default.<br />

Click Next.<br />

Click Finish.<br />

4 Windows 2003 only: Configure ISAPI extension permissions for Windows 2003.<br />

The IIS version limits which application extensions may be loaded into IIS. You have<br />

the choice of enabling all extensions or selectively picking which ISAPI extensions<br />

that may be run in your IIS installation. The following procedure enables just the<br />

iisredir2 extension.<br />

In the Computer Management dialog, open “Services and Applications”.<br />

Open “Internet Information Service”.<br />

Open “Web Service Extensions” and click Add a new Service Extension.<br />

Name the extension “iisredir2.dll”.<br />

Browse (using the add button) to \bin\iisredir2.dll<br />

Select this file.<br />

Check the Extension allowed checkbox.<br />

Click OK.<br />

5 Restart IIS by stopping then starting the IIS Service:<br />

In the Computer Management dialog, right-click the Internet Information Services<br />

node and choose Restart IIS.<br />

In the Stop/Start/Reboot dialog, from the drop-down choose “Stop Internet<br />

Services on ”<br />
