BES architecture overview<br />

The <strong>Borland</strong> Enterprise Server is a CORBA-based, J2EE <strong>server</strong> that utilizes distributed<br />

objects throughout its architecture. With the <strong>Borland</strong> Enterprise Server, you can<br />

establish connectivity to platforms from corporate mainframes to simpler systems with<br />

small-business applications and remote databases. The <strong>Borland</strong> Enterprise Server<br />

components process your enterprise application based on how it is packaged and how<br />

the deployment descriptors describe the application's modules.<br />

In the following architectural diagram, your enterprise applications sit on top of the<br />

<strong>Borland</strong> Enterprise Server. An application <strong>server</strong> installation contains BES core<br />

services and Partitions.<br />
